David Morris is Pacific Trade and Investment Commissioner in China


David has developed international market strategies and directed high-level missions for heads of government, international business, education and cultural delegations in the Asia Pacific, Europe and the United States.

He has advised governments and businesses on trade and investment in industries such as food and agriculture and tourism development.

David led China strategies for the University of Sydney, creating a China Studies Centre and high-level expert roundtables at Shanghai World Expo.

As Director of International Business Relations, David managed key international relationships and Brand Sydney promotions for Australia’s largest state, New South Wales.

David advised Tasmania on the world’s first GMO moratorium and marketing its clean, green products in Japan, China and other key markets.  He also led the development of the southern Tasmania wine tourism industry.

Applying his original masters research on nation branding, David created “Australia Week” national promotions that are still employed around the world, managed important international conferences and advised on doing business in emerging markets.
